GRIEF SUPPORT

Experiencing Grief Like Never Before

You’ve never felt pain like this before. It’s deep, gut-wrenching, and almost indescribable—a pain you wouldn’t wish on anyone. “They” say, “just keep busy,” so you throw yourself into work, volunteering at your church, and it helps, for a while. You try to distract yourself with shopping, going out, and even find yourself laughing sometimes. But then, guilt creeps in—how can you laugh without them? You’re reminded of just how much you miss them.

When Memories Flood Back

As certain dates approach, memories flood back, and that familiar knot tightens in your throat. You want to cry, but “they” say, “You should be over it by now.” Or they hand you a tissue, urging you to “be strong.” But grief doesn’t follow a timetable, and strength doesn’t mean silence.

Breaking the Cycle of Grieving Alone

Sometimes, it feels like grieving alone is normal—maybe this is just how people cope. But deep down, you know there’s another way. You’re determined to break the generational cycle of grieving in isolation and avoiding emotions. You want to find someone who truly understands, someone you can trust to help you navigate through this grief.

Finding Support in Grief Therapy

I work with grievers who feel alone and misunderstood, helping them to honor their emotions and the loved ones they’ve lost. My clients experience a sense of completion, finding a way to honor the relationship they once had with the person who is no longer close—whether through death, divorce, moving, or any other loss. I understand the complexities of grief and the uniqueness of each relationship.

A Balanced Approach: Healing with Humor and Homework

There will be homework, but there will also be humor and laughter, even as we work through the toughest parts of grief. My clients typically meet with me weekly for consistent support, with grief and loss treatment usually spanning 7-9 sessions. Therapy can be the relief you need to live life again.
